While one might think that transforming a chair or couch to a bed might be difficult, Scope’s user-friendly designs for transitional sleeping products makes converting conventional seating to bed positions a snap. Below are a few common operational functions for our transitional sleeping models.

Sure Rest Recliner

To extend footrest:

From the sitting position, grasp and pull the lever release on the panel on the inside of the right armrest. The footrest is spring loaded and will extend on its own.

To convert to sleeping position:

From a sitting position with the footrest extended, grasp, pull, and hold the lever release on the panel on the inside of the left armrest. While holding the release, place one or both feet on the footrest and apply backwards force on the backrest of the recliner, which will recline to a flat position. Let go of the release and the chair will lock into the flat sleeping position.

To convert from sleeping position to sitting position:

From a lying position, place one or both feet on the footrest and apply backwards force on the chair’s backrest. While doing so, grasp, pull, and hold the lever release on the panel on the inside of the left armrest. Lean forward and the back of the chair will rise. Let go of the release and the backrest will lock into the recline position.

To swing out armrests:

Grasp one of the “parachute” handles located on the rear and on either side of the chair’s armrests. Pull the handle diagonally upward, which will unlock the armrest. Pull the released armrest away from the chair. To lock the armrest back into place, simply swivel the armrest back to the body of the chair and apply inward pressure. A “click” sound will confirm that the armrest is locked in place.

Sure Rest Chair

To convert from chair to sleeping position:

1. Grasp, pull, and hold lever release on the panel on the inside of the left (facing) armrest. Pull and slide bottom ottoman portion of the chair away from the base by the handle until the sliding portion is fully extended.
2. Hold and pull the cushion in the exposed portion of the ottoman from the front (furthest portion from the main section of the chair) upward. The cushion will rise upward diagonally. Once the cushion is as high as it can go and the cushion is at an approximately 45 degree angle, push down on the cushion and the bottom portion of the cushion will pivot upward until the entire section is flush with the rest of the chair.
3. Grasp, pull, and hold lever release on in on the panel on the outside of the left (facing) armrest of the chair. Pull the chair cushion forward until it is fully extended. Push the chair backrest downward until it is level with the chair seat.

To convert from sleeping position to chair:

1. Grasp end of ottoman cushion furthest from the base of the chair. Lift upwards, which will cause the opposite side of the cushion to pivot downwards. Once the cushion has reached a 45 degree angle, press down on the raised portion and the cushion will drop flat into the extended footrest section.
2. Raise back cushion to normal seating position. You will hear three clicks.
3. Push and slide extended portion into the base of the chair.

Sure Rest Sofa

To Convert from Sofa to Sleeping Position:

1. Grasp, pull, and hold the lever release on the panel on the inside of either armrest.
2. Pull and slide armrest away from sofa until fully extended, which is approximately 2 feet from the rest of the sofa.
3. Position couch cushions on the base of this extended portion.
4. Storage space can be accessed in this extended portion by gripping the interior panel with your fingers in the small hole near to the sofa base and lifting upward.

1. Remove couch cushions from extended portion.
2. Push and slide armrest until it makes contact with the sofa and locks into place.
3. Reposition couch cushions in sitting position.
